No. Our service is on a Month to Month basis.
Our goal is simple, provide a Great Service that people want, not one that they are bound by a contract.
If after your initial free trial, or at any time thereafter, if you feel it's not working you can cancel at any time, just let us know.

Our pricing is based upon the number of SPOTS you use. See Pricing.

We also work on email, NFC, QR Codes and even the new connected watches.

Yes, we give the user more control than any system out there...Period.
See User Settings about 1/2 way down this page.

Since Google discontinued "Nearby Notifications" in December of 2018, everyone has been struggling with this issue.
appSAVE is the only company that offers 6 ways to deliver messages to customers including NFC, QR Codes, WiFi and email, now the only four ways to send without an app installed on their phones.

Yes. Let's discuss your needs and set up special pricing based upon your volume of usage for SPOTS.

See below towards the bottom of this page.

The ability to deliver messages to phones (Android Only) was a function of Eddystone Beacons and Google's Nearby. Since Google discontinued that service in December of 2018 there is no longer any way to deliver GeoTargeted messages to phones without an app installed.
Our section on Eddystone is for users who have those beacons and would like the ability to still use them. With most other companies, when Google discontinued their service that rendered their Eddystone Beacons worthless.

More Questions

GeoFence & Beacon

You can set the scenarios for any GeoFence or Beacon:

  • When someone enters, "x" happens.
  • When they dwell for "x" amount of time, "x" happens.
  • Have this message repeat after "x" minutes if they are still in the area.
  • When they leave, "x" happens.
  • When they have been gone for "x" amount of time without returning again, "x" happens (Retargeting, a Very Powerful Feature.)

What do I need to Control my Dashboard (appSAVE Fleet?)

Any computer or tablet that can connect to the internet lets you control what you need.
We are one of the Very Few companies that lets you do everything even from a tablet. This one feature opens up a whole realm of possibilities to manage your business because this includes access to your Full Analytics platform, on the go, in store.

By the way, every account includes the Full Analytics capabilities.

How Long before Changes are Visible?

When you make a change, (add a Beacon, relocate a GeoFence, Create or Change a Campaign, etc.,) changes usually take effect in just a few minutes.

This feature is especially powerful at Events where you need a message going out about a schedule change.
Another use is at a conference and vendors have food left to sell. "Beginning Now, Half Price on any food item."
It keeps the vendors happy as they don't have left over food that simply goes to waste.

90% of all Customer Issues are related to Beacons.

We have developed a Troubleshooting guide for beacons just below. If you are having issues, please go through the checklist.

If nothing else works drop us a line at support@appsave.net.  We will only respond to messages that include:

  • Venue Name
  • Campaign Name
  • Beacon Name
  • Screenshot with your Beacon settings (you can usually check your beacon's settings by using the app provided by most beacon manufacturers.)

Can Beacons Track a phone or Capture Data?

  • Beacons are not mini-servers or tracking devices.
  • Beacons do not track anything, they cannot.
  • Their only function is to transmit short data streams that the appSAVE app picks up.
  • Beacons cannot read or sense anything on any device. They only transmit.

Beacon Troubleshooting

What is the UUID, major and minor of my beacon?
You should have received this information from your beacon manufacturer. Please contact them if you can't find it on your device.

Next, Please go through the checklist:
  • Do you have your Bluetooth turned on?
  • Do you have the appSAVE mobile app installed?
  • Do you have a 3G or WiFi connection on?
  • Do you have notifications for the appSAVE mobile app enabled?
  • Do you have location services for the appSAVE mobile app enabled? You can check this for iPhone at Settings > Privacy > Location Services.
  • Please set the campaign trigger distance to Room 4m - it brings the best results in terms of receiving notifications because of beacon hardware limitations.
  • Please make sure that your beacons are properly configured. (99% of reported issues are caused by the incorrect beacon configuration because the default settings that are set by beacon manufacturers do not meet the requirements for a successfull proximity campaign.)
  • Check the Following:
    • Broadcasting Power (Transmission power) is set to + 4 dBm. The more power, the longer the range and increasing the power makes the signal more stable. If you want the beacon to trigger only when a phone is touching it (or nearly touching it) you should test setting brodcasting power for -40 dBm though.
    • Advertising Interval is set to 200 ms. The shorter the interval, the more stable the signal.
    • Smart Battery Saving is TURNED OFF
    • Security UUID is TURNED OFF
    • Use only one bluetooth protocol per beacon (iBeacon or Eddystone UID) - enabling beacon to send bluetooth signals in both protocols significantly decreases the campaign delivery rate.
  • Please check if UUID, Major and Minor numbers that you entered in the dashboard match the UUID, Major and Minor of the Beacon.
  • There should be an active campaign assigned to a beacon.
  • Please shut down the appSAVE app, turn off Bluetooth and WiFi for at least 2 minutes and turn on again.

This section will also be shown on the Information (i) section of the app.

Users just click to see it right from the app.

I'm not receiving push (app) notifications - Android

Push notifications require an active Internet (data) connection. Your device must have a connection to a broadband (3G, 4G, or LTE) network, or a WiFi network. Many corporate or school WiFi networks impose restrictions or proxy servers that can interfere with your device's connection to the Internet. If you would like to receive push notifications using the appSAVE app, your device must meet the following requirements.

Sync your Google account with your phone:

  • Go to the Settings section of your phone.
  • Go to Accounts and sync.
  • Make sure there are no errors when syncing your account with your phone.
Set notification volume on your phone to ON:
  • Go to the Settings section of your phone.
  • Go to Sound setting.
  • Go to Volume setting.
  • Set Notification volume to ON.
Ensure notifications for the appSAVE app are ON:
  • Go to the Settings section of your phone.
  • Go to Application manager (or Apps).
  • Find and select appSAVE.
  • Ensure there is a checkmark next to Show Notifications.
Also check:
  • Internet connection (3G/4G or WiFi connection) - Push notifications require a valid SIM card and an active WiFi or cellular connection. Note: Notifications use WiFi if a cellular connection is unavailable. Firewalls and proxy servers may affect your ability to receive notifications.
  • Updated Google Play Store app - If your device needs an update for this app, it will prompt you when you open it.
  • Updated Google Play Services app - This app is usually included in newer versions of Android or was included in an update to the Google Play Store. To see if you have it, go to the Google Play app store and search for "Google Play services". Look for a button that says "Install" or "Update". If you see it, select it to install or update the app.
If your device meets these requirements and you are still not receiving push notifications, you may need to reinstall the appSAVE app. To do this, first uninstall the appSAVE app from your Android device and then reboot your device. Wait at least 30 minutes, then install the app again.

At this point, if you're still not receiving push notifications, there may be an issue with your device. You can test push notifications using the "Push Notification Test" app from Google Play.

If you have done all the above, including the reinstall and "Push Notification Test" but still are not receiving push notifications, there is an issue with you phone. At this point you need to contact your phone manufacturer as you have a hardware issue.

GeoFencing doesn't work on my phone.

Geofencing is less precise when it comes to proximity detection. Geofencing is more effective for outdoor proximity campaigns that target customers on a larger area, for example when they are walking through the street or are close to the entrance of a shopping mall.
  • Android: Make sure that you have turned on Google location services (learn more here)
  • iOS: Make sure that you have turned on iOS location services for appSAVE (learn more here)
  • Try to increase geofence radius to a larger area, for example 500 meters.
  • Turn on WiFi as it increases the geofencing precision.

iOS Issues

While installing appSAVE on iOS I get a message that the app is not from a trusted developer and cannot be installed.
This is usually only temporary and is a function of your connection.
If this message appears when installing from the AppStore, simply try again.

What is the difference between iBeacon and Eddystone?

iBeacon
iBeacon works with iOS and Android
iBeacon transmits a UUID (16 digit string of numbers), Major (4 digits) and Minor (4 digits).
iBeacon requires an app to receive specific UUID to be able to engage.
The UUID is typically the same for all iBeacons working with a specific app. The “Major” and “Minor” IDs are used to identify each beacon uniquely.

Eddystone
Beacons with support for Eddystone can transmit three different frame-types: Eddystone-URL, Eddystone-UID or Eddystone-TLM. All three frame-types work with iOS and Android. You can have a single beacon with Eddystone firmware transmit one, two or all three frame-types.

Eddystone-URL (Browser Beacon)
Tells the smart device to open a URL
Eddystone-URL broadcasts a URL, which is simply a web page. You can link to any site on the Internet.

Eddystone-UID (App Beacon)
Eddystone-UID requires an app to receive that specific UID for your app to be able to engage.
Eddystone is very similar to iBeacon, but it only broadcasts a 16 digit string of numbers known as the UID (no majors or minors).
No two beacons will ever have the same UID.

Eddystone-TLM
The main function of Eddystone is to transmit sensor data from the beacon itself. This includes the beacon’s battery state for now, but could transmit other sensory data including information about temperature (thermometer), movement (accelerometer), etc.
